See atleast this time I will have a reason for wanting to whack the mage first. Lowell is trying to put the moves on my elf chick.
@Konsaki/Adamu I thought it was really cool when Caittie and Lowell were talking and she was having flash backs......was that due to Lowell mind raping her or just something Konsaki eluded to on purpose or was it a total accident and neither of you even knew it looked like that??

Everything before Lowell talks is my own work. I wrote it out to have Caittie see the flashbacks of when she blew away the SUV with the drone. Desperate people do desperate things, but Caittie doesnt have the combat/vioence in her past like most of the other characters.

@pragma - you know about the meet and its location from receiving Johnson's group message. If you want to post some way of being around or whatever feel free. If it fits into the IC, cool. If you feel it wouldn't, just OOC me and we'll figure a way to get it in.
@Everyone at the meet - Please don't post your questions/requests to the IC thread. In the long run, it will go much faster if you post your proposed IC response into the OOC thread for this scene.
That way, whenever I am playing, I can paste all current questions into my IC and answer them all, rather than people having to go one at a time, which will take forever. This way you can fire off as many questions as you want whenever you want (please do write the proposed IC so I can just past it in), and I'll just traffic-cop it on the IC thread.
@Everyone - no need to tell you all how technophobic I am. Yes, I have a scanner. But no, despite several of your best efforts to show me how "simple" it would be for me to use that to put things on the board here, I have absolutely no idea what you were talking about or how to use this device. That's just the way some people are.
That said, fairly detailed graphics may be quite useful going forward. So if any of you (A) knows how to take a hard-copy graphic and get it onto the Internet or even directly into a post, with the new board features, AND (B) is comfortable giving me either a snail mail address or a fax number, there will be a modest karma award in it for you. Any responders PM please.

I've got my vacation time, I've got my badge, I've got my hotel - now - the actual event registration hasn't actually started yet? I don't really need to do anything else until such point as they actually start listing the events? Abbandon my friend - I know you are trying to encourage me. But you have to understand that some people not only do not mesh well with machines and so forth, but some of us completely lack any sort of computer background and training.
Kids today grow up with this stuff. My high school of 1,500 students had ONE computer, and it used punch cards.
I was living in a part of the world where personal computers had not proliferated during the time everyone in the US was getting them. I just sort of missed the boat - though I'll admit that part of it was simple lack of interest.
Plus, all my machinery here is in Japanese, which means it takes me twice as long to read the instructions.
Think of it this way - suppose I handed you my own badass toy/tool, an electronic Japanese-English dictionary with all sorts of cool options. And then I sat you down at my desk in Tokyo and said, Hey dude, please convert this Japanese equity report on pharmaceutical issues into English. And then when you said you didn't read Japanese, I said - well dude, you've got this slick electronic dictionary just gathering dust...It's like taking a guy who's never seen a car and saying, hey guy, it's really simple. Just start it up and use this wheel to steer.

Cerberus - FBI questions
Cerberus unfolds his arms and steps forward, "I have some questions.. Can you tell us who these corpses are affiliated with? Are they FBI, government employee's, a particular corporation? Also who do you think killed them? We need to know who we might be running up against in this mission, who might blame us for killing them if we are caught, who might try to stop us from finding out this information you need. A collapsed, blown up building can be pretty devestating to the things inside or underneath of it, what if the corpses are to destroyed to recover intact? Do you want us to try and destroy any remnants that we are unable to excavate? What about this security corporation that will be taking over the building, when was the last time you saw their time table and do you know the project manager or guy in charge's name? Can you shadow him and give us live updates or give us his name so we can? We dont need to get caught with our hand in the cookie jar..One final question..when you guys picked me up earlier you eluded to someone else looking for me. Care to shed any light on that and let me know, after all I'd like this job to go smooth and easy."
Cerberus couldnt think of any other questions so he stepped back and folded his arms again. He thought about what kind of favors he would want from these guys and there were only a few things he could really go for, improving some of his cyber and getting his old bike back or atleast a replacement/ small upgrade. Cerberus typed a small text message up on his commlink and beamed it over to Higgins before he responded to all of Cerberus's questions.
Cerberus listened to the responses Higgins gave not only for details he had asked for but also for any hint that these guys might be hiding something. There was something off about these two like they were always in on some little joke.
(ooc)-Content of Cerberus's text message....
"'Sup Bro? Theres only a couple of things I would really like to see underneath my christmas tree. I have standard aluminum bone lacing and wired reflexes 2. If you could get me some more essense friendly aluminum bone lacing or even some titanium essense friendly implants, or maybe more essense friendly wires 2 or maybe some wiz synaptic boosters 2+ that are essense friendly that would be awesome. It would also be greatly appreciated if you got my bike out of impound or got me a stock Harley-Scorpion that is modded for trolls. I mainly just want one of those cyber upgrades, the bike would make me love you long time though, and hooking me up with all that shit or some delta grade shit would make me indebted to the two of you beyond this mission..."

Do you want us to IC anything we do before the pitch? Johnson will have grabbed a soda from the fridge before heading downstairs, at least.
Overall, he is going to "pull a Lowell" and keep his mouth shut. He'd probably like that to come off like he's not worried about the mission, or somehow knows everything he needs to know. In reality, he doesn't really know what to ask, and wants to let the rest of the team ask the questions. They probably know what needs to be asked based on their specialties, than he would.
He will make a Judge Intentions roll, to see what his gut tells him about these two, and their pitch - and how they answer the rest of the team's questions.
Charisma 6 + Intuition 4 = 10 dice
Higgens: #D=10 : 6324313455 n1=1 n6=1 nHit=3
Lowell: #D=10 : 3612561564 n1=2 n6=3 nHit=5
And I'd also be interested to know if Johnson remembers anything about the Hirotomo Building bombing (if it was a terrorist act, there might have been some news about it, like which terrorist group took credit for it) or First Hill (like, is that near here? downtown? etc). It sounds upscale if the security coming on Monday is so frightening.
Memory Test: Logic 3 + Will 4 = 7 dice
#D=6 : 3434463 n1=0 n6=1 nHit=1

@Abbandon - thanks for the IC stuff - you can play Cerberus infinitely better than I can, obviously. I will paste all that into the next IC.
Thanks for sending me the essence info. However, I fear it won't be relevant - these guys don't know your current essence, nor are they cybertech specialists. They will assume you know what you want and will base their answer on what they can and will give you. Computing the essence when you make your choices is your responsibility.
I have no idea what that initiative roll is for.
@Abbandon and BH - I'll cut straight to the chase - neither of you got any net hits on your Judge Intentions tests. So your characters will have to make your own assesments based on their words and my IC narrative.
@BH - First Hill is a double-A neighborhood just east of the downtown core. You remember some minor story about a building blowing up. There was some sort of in-house scandal with the construction company, but that's all you recall.
No need for any IC of before the briefing unless there is something you MUST have me edit in. Tried to keep it straightforward. It's of course fine to assume that you brought down a beverage.

I've been unable to come up with anything clever for listening in on the conversation and Fort's paranoia runs to deep to risk a wireless link or a watcher spirit on site.
As a result, Fort probably just asked someone (probably Johnson or Sledge) to record the meeting and send it to him once they were sure Lowell wasn't looking. No need to add a whole IC for that, but I'd appreciate it if someone could edit it in.

Dude if Adamu doesnt mind, Cerberus could be recording audio/visual of the whole meet. I wish I would have done it anyways.
Hey guys!!!!! I think this is really important and everyone should know it, and help spread the word. I think it will add a crap load of flavor to the forum games.Check this outHey all. Everytime I have to roll something I have to freaking either look up the formula or remember it and I was thinking "I need to make something on the wiki like a scratch pad so I can write down all the rolls I would need so I can just copy/paste them" But then I thought about the mechanics page and it had alot of the forumal's and stuff down already just not in forum format. Well I overhauled my mechanics page and broke it up into sections and then in each section there are properly formatted rolls for everything. Check it out:
MechanicsIt looks a little ugly with all those horozontal lines but thats my rough draft hehe. Maybe I can put all those into a table. Hopefully they will stay formatted, because being able to copy/paste is the whole point. Does anyone want me to redo their mechanics page like it is now or the table version if it works? I tried to just put rolls for stuff you can do, or things you probably might want to do like Stealth Skills, and defense against everything imaginable.
@Adamu: I noticed I had not added the specifics of cerberus's eyes and ears to his wiki and in doing so i discovered an error/glitch/problem. His eyes have a capicity of 12, he has 13 points worth of stuff crammed into them. The quickest and easiest thing for me to do is drop "vision enhance 3" down to "vision enhance 2" which will affect my perception rolls from now on. Guess I will kiss the 1500Y that extra point cost goodbye.
I'll let you know if my ears have been cheating to, they are next.

@JD - thanks - I will be sure to do that.
@Abbandon - that is some cool stuff.
A while back I tried typing some Japanese into the thread, but most people only got gibberish out on their side. It all depends on the encoding settings on individual PCs, I believe.
In any case, however well the machine does with Mary had a little lamb, the sad fact (or happy fact for my livelihood) is that Japanese-English computer translations still degrade rapidly into utter nonsense after the first few lines or anything with any sort of complexity. But I may give your toy a try if we need a European language.
Don't worry about the over capacity on your eyes - all that was approved long ago by me - if I made a mistake, then you had a cool surgeon, or got a nifty high-grade model eyes or something.
@pragma/Abbandon - I edited in that Cerberus was recording everything. Short of totally hacking his system, there's really no way to know if someone with cybereyes/ears has them set to record or not...

Caittie sat in a chair, listening to the off and on conversations, silent and unassuming or at least trying to be. She figured the breaks in the vocal communication were either people trying to sort their mind or, more likely, chatter on the digital realm. Hell, she would be foolish to bet against the last one as she could 'see' the streams of data going from one device to another, though seeing it and understanding it were two entirely different things.
This concentration on the talks and the few streams of data were probably the only things keeping her from going insane... or at least thats what the technomancer thought to herself. Taking a deep breath, she shook her head, red braid swinging with the effort. 'Come on, girl! Keep it together and work!', she yelled at herself in her own head to psych up.
The elven lass flicked her gaze to the dull-looking mage, lazily smoking in slow drags by a corner of the room, but lingered not but a second as she then focused in on the talkative of the pair. "Agent Higgins...", she started with a little apprehension, but quickly broke through to be more professional sounding, "is there a statute of limitations on these favors?" With narry a pause, she continued, "I'd hate to perform this work, though helpful it might be to the FBI, and find out that when I try and call in the favor that I'm just past it's experation." The green eyed teenager wore a slight smile as her tone held more of a hint of humor near the end of the last line.
<Insert response here if you wish>
After a pause, she asked off another question to the agent, "Also, what would be the, um..." She thoughts stuttered for a second, trying to think of the proper word, but quickly picked the sentance back up, "average expected return from these favors? I mean, you could have us asking anything, from expensive things to, say... new lives to live. What would be the the most you could do for us without getting yourself in trouble?"

After Angel....
Cerberus regains his focus midway into Angel's questions and gets his mind back on the job. Why the hell wasnt anyone asking questions? Did they already know everything they needed to know? He sure as hell didnt have experience digging up dead bodies. All the ones he had seen were usually fresh kills or in the process of dieing. He grimaced at the thought of having to dig around and bust through concrete and most likely get blisters on his hands but he looked forward to putting his muscles to use. Then a thought occured to him... "What if these bodies are not there? Can your information be wrong? What do these individuals even look like? Can you atleast give us their biometric data? Race, hair color, ethnicity, weight..."
---------------------------------
When the group eventually gets up and leaves...
As the others got up to leave Cerberus just stood their staring and Higgins and Lowell. Johnson was one of the first to walk buy and saw him standing there and asked "Are you coming?". Cerberus continued his stare down with the agents which wasnt hard thanx to his cybereyes but replied to Johnson, "Yeah I will be up in a second.". Once everyone had vacated the basement or atleast was out of earshot Cerberus dropped his arms to his sides ready to follow the others but said what he had to say to the agents first, "I dont ever wanna hear another slight against my ethics or anyone else's I'm rolling with, crystal? Its not conducive to this relationship." Cerberus stood there a second longer challenging either agent to make another comment and then bounded off up the stairs and towards the others ducking his head down where the room connected with the stairs.

Honestly, our ethics are so far gone that just associating with us is questionable ethics on the agents part. Which, I suppose, is a cleverly delivered theme of the game.
That said, the Cerberus' speech is well in keeping with his character and a charming bit of role-playing. Go for it.

I am okay with moving on. Here's a chunk of IC you can add when that happens:
[ Spoiler ]
Johnson's attention shifts to Higgens briefly when he responds to Angel's question. That was exactly the sort of thing he wanted to hear, and he had to make a conscious effort to keep his excitement under wraps. There was no point in tipping his hand, yet. Until they had the data and bodies, in the back of their murder-mobile, he didn't have his favor. Instead, he turned his thoughts to Fortunato, and how he was going to negotiate payment with him, for this mission. His excitement faded quickly.
He appreciated the agents' candor, and could even see why they wanted to meet everyone up front, but, personally, it was causing him a good amount of discomfort. It wasn't that he didn't want the rest of the team to know what resources they had at their disposal - and he certainly had no claim on any of the spoils of this mission, himself, but he had the uncomfortable feeling that Agent Higgens was unintentionally setting the bar quite high for his team, and by extension, for him. A week ago, he was able to toss them ten-grand to murder a powerful mob-boss - a job that would have been suicide if he wasn't secretly backed by someone who could clean up the mess. Today, for a little grave-robbery, they were being offered something potentially more valuable - at least, Johnson was counting on that potential. Something told him that after Rocky got his makeover at a posh government delta-clinic, he wouldn't be nearly as interested in committing whatever crimes Franco asked of them, for 10-large. He just wouldn't be as desperate - none of them would.
Johnson felt cold for a moment.
Was that it? Had he been counting on their desperation? Johnson didn't like the thought of that, but the more he thought about it, the more sense it made. That was really the only reason their initial mission got off the ground, in the first place, and the only reason he was able to keep them all together, after that. It didn't matter that he threw a little extra money their way whenever he could, because it wasn't helping their situation any. After spending the week hiding out in a shitty motel eating vending-machine food, they would have probably jumped at any job "Johnson" managed to miraculously find - which is to say, whatever job his boss told him they had to do. Now, that was no longer the case. If Franco did get a hold of him this weekend, Johnson doubted he could offer anything that would make the team bail on this mission - and if their favors went far enough to give them new lives....
It sounded like Angel wanted a new life, at least. Rocky probably still wanted that plastic surgery. He had no idea what Cerberus wanted, but he was pretty sure it had something to do with regaining some semblance of his former life, or leaving the rest of it behind. If they all got what they wanted, would they still want to commit crimes for money? Probably not. Why would they want to gamble away their second-chances? He might still have Sledge and Fortunato on board. They weren't as new to this. Maybe they were in too deep. Johnson certainly was.
It occurred to him, that even if he got the favor he had in mind, he wasn't out. He was on the hook to deliver, whether he needed the money, or not - and half of his team was probably going to lose interest in working for him, soon. The half that Franco had gone out of his way to secure. This wasn't one of his part-time jobs that he could just walk away from when he lost interest, or when the ship was sinking. This was bad. This was really bad. He had been so focused on the opportunity to do something significant for his parents that he hadn't realized what it might cost him, professionally. He took a sip of his cola, and realized he had completely zoned out there, for a second. Everyone else seemed ready to go. He was ready too.
One thing was crystal clear. He wanted the mission to succeed. In fact, he hoped that it meant that everyone else got what they needed to live a better life, because that would mean his own favor might come through without complications. Whatever the fallout was with Franco, Adam would somehow find a way to come out on top. That was what he did. He was reminded of how he got his job working for Franco, in the first place. If Adam Lear had a signature move, that was it - tossing himself into danger to bail out someone else, catching a lucky break, and walking away relatively unharmed. He supposed his luck only had to fail him once, though. The trick was not to think about things too much, and to just roll with the punches - so as he climbed the stairs, that's exactly what he resolved to do.

Heading out, as a team, sounds fine (although I was hoping we could stay there). Johnson will offer Angel a ride since she took a cab here and he wouldn't mind chit-chatting with her along the way.
He'll also PM Sledge to suggest a meet and private debrief, somewhere. He won't suggest a place, though, since we don't have one. Probably part of that will be finding a new HQ close to our target. Maybe Sledge already knows a great place.

The only thing we should talk about in the house is the wallpaper color, and what the designer was thinking.

Yeah, that's why Johnson said "If we're going to touch bases with anyone else, we should probably leave." I figured Fortunato was not going to come here.

He's more concerned about someone else putting a bullet in his head, but yes he'd be extremely hesitant to meet you guys there.

Ok, as I expected this week has been busy.
Rocky is in for the job, but does not have a lot of thoughts on how to get it done.
The one thing he will mention is the need for bags to carry the remains out in.
FYI:
I leave tomorrow morning for my Convention and will be back late Monday night.
