Not to derail too heavily, but that's some complete bullshit right there.

Not to derail too heavily, but atheists need to get a sense of humor too. It's ok for them to joke about people of faith, but not ok for the reverse? Double standard much?

EDIT: This is not a personal attack to you so much as it is a general complaint.

To be fair, most atheists know more about [name a religion] then practitioners of [said religion].
Why? Because they did the research when trying to decide what faith they were.

Also, since when were atheists jokes taboo? Gods love atheists, it gives them someone to aim at.

I'm an atheist, and I'd never given this much thought. You, sir, have a very good point.

Well, I don't know anything about [name a religion], it's just that I find the concept of a "higher power" quite silly. That's just my opinion. Other people have a right to their own opinion, too.

While we're on this topic...
3951. My runner is not allowed to get into a religious debate with the Johnson.
3951a. The rest of the team is not allowed to join in.

I said most.

Anyway, take this quiz. Who knows, you might still more know about various religions than most people.

I always find it funny that religious people get upset about Atheists.

1) Atheists are wrong, and they're going to spend eternity in Hell. So, They're gonna get punished more than plenty for any perceived afront they are giving you in life.
2) Atheists are right, there is no god, and you should just mind mind your own business.

Maybe it's a fear of #2

A fear of #2 is why most religions just don't get along.

Edit: Aie! We're digressing!

3951b. "Belief in a Higher Power" is not just the Troll's request to increase the bore size of the Panther XXL.

Reminds me of a book I read recently where the main character was sure that God existed, but didn't know which one so she prayed to a saint (forget which one off hand) hoping that he'd know which one and deliver her message.

(Point of hilariousness: she's the daughter of a titan)

3951c. "Belief in a Higher Power" is also not about Thor shots. Or dragons, although they'll happily take your worship and tithing.

::Shrug:: As another one of us happy heathens, I personally feel that *everyone* needs to get a fragging sense of humor. It's been scientifically proven* that taking yourself too seriously leads to high blood pressure, a higher risk of cancer, erectile disfunction, irritable bowel syndrome, wrinks, and AIDS. Against this mountain of evidence, what sane, rational person wouldn't want to learn to lighten up?

Also:
3952: Using my pornomancer to start world-wide holy wars between every known religion is considered to be in poor taste.

*No it hasn't.

2831d: It is unacceptable to put an AR overlay of a Guy Fawkes mask on your face.
2831e: This applies in either the Matrix or meatspace.
2831f: In the far distant future, after Goblinization, trollface is racist. I should not forget this.

3951d. Actually, mostly just the tithing.

I am resisting the urge to do the (I think against ToS) religious conversation. I feel proud of myself, actually.

Dusty the Cat has 4chan as a group contact...

Doctor McCoy, a PC I ran in my first game, has a Shadowrun MMORPG Guild as a contact. He shows up in my stories.

That's why we have Jackpoint now. The writers got tired of the giant cast of constantly changing characters.

Does Jackpoint have an Oracle?

Not sure what you mean, but there was a list of the main Jackpoint folks and little character blurbs I saw a while ago. I'll see if I can track that down. I dunno if it's an official thing though.

I'm referring to the USENET Oracle, which is still going, iirc.
Tyro
What about an auricle? Is Jackpoint heartless?

(Sorry, I've been rereading Spider Robinson's Callahan stories and couldn't help myself)
ggodo
Ah, I was never enough of a techie for Usenet when it was new, and now no one I know uses it. So it's just a relic of the past for me. Known, but not understood.

2832b: My 'Runner may not inscribe his helmet with a peace sign and the phrase "Born to Kill"
2832c: My 'Runner may not have R. Lee Ermey as a mentor spirit

2833: My character may not be based on Vin Diesel in XXX. Even if it is the contemporary equivalent to Shadowrun The Movie.

I think Force 6 is a little low for Gunnery Sergeant Ermey.
CanRay
He's a Marine Gunnery Sergeant promoted to it after retirement. I don't think there is a Force high enough for him. Buttercup would call him "Sir".

I have this nifty magical item, found it on a run against a mage-corp, I guess the gm did not understand how sticky the fingers of grunts are. This would be a VERY non-standard spirit.
