Don't forget the alt. Alt+`, e.
Some symbols require a shift, e.g : needs alt +shift + ; (because : needs a shift)
(Also, only works in some applications, Firefox doesn't respect it, but MS Word does)

I should note, it gives me great pleasure as a GM to ask 'Are you sure?" just to make the players nervous about something as simple as grabbing a fresh soykaf.
