First movie to show a rape scene in theaters IIRC. Broke a lot of new ground, and probably scarred a lot of people for life ^_^
Stanley Kubrick was only able to get himself to do the role because Alex liked Beethoven. He figured anyone who liked Beethoven couldn't be pure evil, no matter what else he did; apparently he found the part very difficult. I can't say I blame him.
The book is even worse, of course. By which I mean disturbing and awesome.

Could that not have been done with a simple chemical gland which, at least in SR3, automagically gave the user immunities to whatever the gland was made to produce?

I have a rather distinct lack of 3E books.

I finally said, "Frag it!" after years of waiting when I saw the 4th Edition BBB, and decided to run my own game. Still took years to get that off the ground.

It was back in my college days and it didn't get
quite that far. I was GMing the game and my three friends were massive pink mohawk players. I'd used one of the school library's printers to make copies of floor plans I found online and taped them together so from a distance, it looked pretty realistic. They were talking about the security and everything else and a waitress overheard us. It didn't help that both myself at the time and one of my friends were decked out in punk rock clothes constantly (my friend actually had a foot-tall 5-color mohawk). The waitress apparently told the manager to call the cops but the manager knew us since we hung out there all the time and politely asked us what the hell we were doing and, once we explained it, asked us to knock it off. Since a place that allowed teenagers/early 20-somethings to sit around for hours on end drinking coffee refills was far more valuable to us than a place to game, we played at home from then on.
It's fresh on my mind because my current group were brainstorming places to game since our GM's apartment apparently looks like a bookshelf sneezed out notes all over the place (he and his wife are working on their thesis...es? theses?) and one of the places suggested was a coffee shop in a fairly popular neighborhood.

Talking about Shadowrun in public is just asking for trouble:
"So, what are we doing next week?"
"Well, since we already took out that guy we were supposed to hit, and the cops aren't onto us, we need to copy his keycards so we can break into his office and steal all his files. I'm thinking we can set fire to the place, make it look like an accident, and get away with this one clean."
