Honestly, I was more happy that they acknowledged that it was a thing, but I'm still not sure if I think it was implemented well.
1) I'm not a huge fan of multiple size modifiers for metahumans, especially not something that spreads across 4 levels of modifiers.
2) I still think drones are out of whack, at least the micro and minis. I would think a -6 would be more approrpiate to hitting something that size (then again, I still don't get how a microskimmer is supposed to be frisbee sized and at the same time be smaller than a Fly-Spy, unless the Fly Spy is Saturday Monster Matinee sized).
Especially since it says that a Fly-Spy is supposed to be the same size as a large insect. What does "large" mean? Does that mean rhinoceros beetle large?
beetleEven so, that is still much smaller than a frisbee
Here is my take, I'm open to your thoughts:
1) RG1 - This is how I am used to playing Shadowrun - two attacks per round (since I'm raised on SR 1-3). However, I realize that this is probably too deadly for the campaign we are in. I personally think that the cumulative recoil should be spend a simple action to clear cumulative recoil if you are playing with RG1, and spend a complex action to clear it if you aren't. (Leaning toward ruling it that way as well)
2) RG2 - I like this, although I don't think there are that many different sizes of metahumans either. Should probably be no modifier for 90% of metas, and +1 for large humans and orks, +2 for trolls. Not sure how I'd delineate that exactly - open to suggestions.
3) RG3 - seems like a little fiddly - I've always been fine with Target Walking/Running - but I could be talked into this.
4) RG4 - no, this was one of the problems with high initiatives in SR1 and 2 - the speed monkeys were able to walk up to a target, slap him in the face, do a little dance, moon him, take out their gun, load it manually, and then shoot him before he ever got to do anything. I much prefer the current system (well, the one started in SR3)
5) RG5 - not necessary in a play by post game. In a pnp it means less dice to roll, which is fine, but I like the current system, and putting in 10d6.hits(5) or 18d6.hits(5) makes no difference.
6) RG6 - undecided. Might make the game too lethal - probably not going to use it.
7) Called shots seem fine
8 ) Location shots -
very interested in these, depending on how balanced they are.
