@ Aria: Sounds good. Also realized that I was shooting with my reaction score instead of my agility. No foul though, as I just rolled too few dice. nyahnyah.gif

IP2:
Free Action: Take aim (from Krav Maga)
Simple Action---Shot #1 at goon: Agi(9) + Firearms(4) + Take Aim(1) + Smartlink(2) - Attacking from Cover(2) = 14d6 for 3 hits.
Simple Action---Shot #2 at goon: Agi(9) + Firearms(4) + Smartlink(2) - Attacking from Cover(2) = 13d6 for 1 hit.

Uh...I'm blaming my prior IC post's inclusion of stinky trash smell for cooling my dice off.

IP3:
Free Action: Take aim (from Krav Maga)
Simple Action---Shot #1 at next goon: Agi(9) + Firearms(4) + Take Aim(1) + Smartlink(2) - Attacking from Cover(2) = 14d6 for 5 hits.
Simple Action---Shot #2 at goon: Agi(9) + Firearms(4) + Smartlink(2) - Attacking from Cover(2) = 13d6 for 1 hit.

Also, one question while I am thinking about it. Is it a karma per every 2 IC posts for any IC post, even things like the between game downtime-y kind of posts? Is that the same with the 2500 nuyen.gif per 2 posts as well? Thanks, just trying to make sure I am reading it correctly.

Sorry Trigger, only just remembered I meant to reply to this - the answer is yes, 1 karma & 2500 nuyen for every two IC posts, whatever they are and whoever they feature. Other players have even posted in game stuff just to set tone and have nothing to do with their own characters...

@E:PL IP2 Gemeaux removes another goon and the spirit / badass mage take out two more leaving two! I leave it to you to IC it unless I get to it at lunch - the remaining two will run but with a twist so leave them to me smile.gif
JxJxA
@ Aria: Cool deal. I put up a short IC snippet, and while I know that you have plans for the remaining goons, Gemeaux still wants them all dead. I'll wait to see if he's disappointed or viscerally satisfied with the outcome. nyahnyah.gif
JxJxA
@ E:PL: Rats?!? I hate rats! They make me crazy! Crazy?!? I was crazy once. Those damn rats... Rats?!? nyahnyah.gif

@ Aria: Cool deal. I put up a short IC snippet, and while I know that you have plans for the remaining goons, Gemeaux still wants them all dead. I'll wait to see if he's disappointed or viscerally satisfied with the outcome. nyahnyah.gif

And my reply is moments behind you...

Note that the two OGDWD's spirit stunned are still alive...in fact the fc 10 stunbolts are only overflowing a little way into physical. Your shots are more lethal but only one of them is actually outright dead, the second was in mid dodge when you shot him...

So, we'll take the shotgun blasts as surpressing fire into the alley I think, seems the best way as he's not actually coherent enough to aim! Move out of cover and you risk taking a face full of buckshot (so feel free to give it a second to pass and I don't have to look the rules up nyahnyah.gif)

The street shaman (spoiler nyahnyah.gif) is using gecko climb and the horde of rats is in fact a single force 4 spirit attacking the angel (and concealing the shaman hence the disappearing...)

So, your moves on IP3 I believe, sorry, think your previous rolls will need some revising, wasn't anticipating you taking out 6 goons before they can even blink biggrin.gif
JxJxA
@ Aria: Makes sense. Based on the description, I thought that first one who took the stunbolt was a goner. I guess I'll just have to fix that issue by putting a few bullets in them before I leave. nyahnyah.gif

Yeah, that's a tough call on the shotgun-toting orc... I'll try it, though, as letting even one get away alive could be trouble for him in the future. If I fail and get hit, and Mr. Hill is able to rescue him, all the more reason for Gemeaux to go along with the plan. smile.gif

IP3:
Free Action--Moving to take the shot
Suppressing fire test--React(8 ) + Reakt(2) + Edge(3) = 13d6 for 5 hits. I have a good feeling about his chances... ;-p

I think Synch kicks in now, but I'm not sure. I'll knock off the last die from the roll and post the Synch/no Synch counts

Simple Action--Shot #1 at Shotgun Goon: Agi(9) + Firearms(4) + Smartlink(2) + Synch(1) = 15d6 for 3 hits/3hits.
Simple Action--Shot #2 at Shotgun Goon: Agi(9) + Firearms(4) + Smartlink(2) + Synch(1) = 15d6 for 7 hits/6 hits.

Aria
Yep, he's a goner...even with cover and full defense that's brutal! IC away nyahnyah.gif

That just leaves the shaman (and his spirit)...who is leaving in a hurry!
JxJxA
@ Aria: Yeah, I was really surprised by that roll. Makes me a little worried about my own d00d's armor. x_x
JxJxA
@ OGDWD: I just realized that I never posted a physical description of Gemeaux. Basically, he's a athletic yet slender man with slightly olive skin, wavy black hair, brown eyes and an ever-present roguish smirk. Demon's eyes were blue, but that was because he picked out that color of cybereyes. nyahnyah.gif
onlyghostdanceswhiledrunk
rgr that, working on what im doing on anselm, the angel obviously is going to work on beating down the f4 spirit (i assume its beast?).
onlyghostdanceswhiledrunk
ok taking a simple action to observe in detail where he "dissapeared", according to the book i have that is Magic (of the spirit so 4) negative dp mod to detecting him.

-4 concealment, +3 vision enhancement, +3 actively looking for the bugger, light (i assumed partial light) and using lowlight thats a zero penalty, +2 for dark king, perception (visual) +3, +3 intuition = 10d6, vs threshold of 2 (normal target) = 10d6.hits(5) → [1,6,6,4,6,2,6,1,1,3] = (4)

BLAM! I see the bugger.

using second simple action to plead my angel to punish the unrighteous

free action: point at where i see the bastard climbing.

Initiative for second turn: 8d6 -2 sustaining penalty = 6d6.hits(5) → [3,2,5,5,4,6] = (3)

going on 9 with 3 ips.

Ip1:
free action: centering via vengeful chanting (latin)
Complex: cast f5 plasma lance (see character sheet for the spell) drain code : (5/2 rounded down = 2 +5 = 7S)

10d6.hits(5) → [5,2,1,3,5,5,2,3,6,5] = (5)

5p + net successes fire AND electrical damage coming at that scrub resisted with impact armor .

(note on this one, not sure how you want to play the armor reduction, if its half or quarter (because half from 1 effect and then half again from teh other) , mostly got it for the super nasty effects of electrical, burning and guaranteed half impact armor minimum biggrin.gif)

pg 154 and 155 sr4 for the effects smile.gif

resisting 7S drain:

17d6.hits(5) → [3,6,6,1,6,4,4,5,4,1,6,6,2,3,2,6,1] = (7)

close and stressful but pulled it out smile.gif no drain

Spirit turn 2 combat IP1:

simple action: observve in detail

perception 5 + intuition 5 -4conceal, -3 spirit within 2 meters attempting to engage in melee, +3 actively looking, +2 (teamwork test from me) = 8d6.hits(5) → [6,5,2,3,3,6,2,2] = (3)

he sees the shaman.

movement to go after him takes free action with using his running rate.

rat spirit gets a free chance to intercept:

assuming f4 beast spirit:

unarmed combat 4 + Agi 5 = 9d6.hits(5) → [6,3,5,5,3,5,6,1,3] = (5)

eek rats are bad!

angels chance to dodge and is going on full defense while moving

reaction 7 + dodge 5 + dodge 5 = 17d6.hits(5) → [2,1,5,6,4,1,1,4,6,2,4,3,4,3,5,5,2] = (5)

The angel narrowly evades the ravening pack of rats 0.o and is moving at a rate of 25m per combat and so will be on the shaman on ip3 of turn 2 here (since we started 20 meters away i figure the extra 5 will catch the shaman).

several things could alter how this goes so ill hold off on listing my ip 2/3 and the angels ip 2
onlyghostdanceswhiledrunk
once i get a sense of outcome ill IC replies to Gemeaux etc etc. I just posted up to where Anselm is winding up a plasma lance in Ip 1 of turn 2 to send as a gift to the satanist biggrin.gif
Aria
Ok, as I make it the angel is chasing the shaman while you power up your lance...the rats are in pursuit of the angel and are nipping at its heels. In IP3/1 (gotta love sustaining foci don't you!) the shaman will cast a wreck spell on the nearest window and disappear inside...your lance will just catch him but I will give some additional D for cover / dodging it.

As a ruling on the spell, I suspect half impact armour is the best it should do but you get the nasty secondary effects of both elemental types. Also any fire or electricity resist on armour will use the lower value of the two (even if that's 0) which is an additional boost to make up for the excessive drain. Sound fair to you?

So you know you've hit him (and woken up half the neighbourhood) - but you suspect he's not dead (although twitching a lot inside that room...

By the end of this round he will have summoned his bound force 4 spirit so that's two against one on the angel while he tries to limp off

Everyone else still alive is groaning and lying about waiting for Gemeaux to finish them off...
JxJxA
I can't curve bullets, so I'll put the remaining goons out of their misery. nyahnyah.gif I also looked at my dice roll post and realized I can't do math because I shorted myself another die again. I guess that's what I get for posting at work... nyahnyah.gif If I miss a negative mod like shooting at a prone target, feel free to knock off some die from my rolls. smile.gif

Round 2: Init 16/3 IP
Initiative: React(8 ) + Int(3) = 11d6 for 5 hits.

IP 1
Simple action---Shoot closest goon: Agi(9) + Firearms(4) + Smartlink(2) = 15d6 for 5 hits.
Free action---Take aim at another goon
Simple action---Shoot said goon: Agi(9) + Firearms(4) + Smartlink(2) + Take Aim(1) - Multiple Targets(2) = 14d6 for 3 hits.

IP 2
Simple action---Shoot third goon: Agi(9) + Firearms(4) + Smartlink(2) = 15d6 for 4 hits.
Free action---Take aim at last goon
Simple action---Shoot that damn goon: Agi(9) + Firearms(4) + Smartlink(2) + Take Aim(1) - Multiple Targets(2) = 14d6 for 3 hits.

Just for my own recordkeeping---I've used 10 bullets, I have 5 left in the extended clip before I have to reload.

I'll wait to see what happens by IP3. If the spirit is still alive, I might take a potshot at it. If not, maybe go after the shaman if possible?

@Sabs: No sorry, waiting for me on this one… IC up now…let me know if you want to do anything specific otherwise I’ll go ahead with your meeting.

@Trigger: Info on Argent
  • Elven fixer. Married with kids. Husband lectures on magic at Seattle Uni. Is awakened
  • Good reputation as an info broker and being straight with her runners (as far as possible). Specialises in magical ops and data gathering runs.
  • Recently someone tried to kill her
  • Has links to the Stillwater group
  • What other sort of info do you want…it’s probably there for you to find!

onlyghostdanceswhiledrunk
and hes still conscious from the electricity drat lol frown.gif? but alright in that case IP 2 of turn 2 I will nuke the rats/beast spirit (bound one) , as will my angel. IP3 if both the spirits arent finished its time to rape spirit number 2 and then the plan is for gemeaux and co to gtfo hopefully.

onlyghostdanceswhiledrunk
IP2:
free: centering, chanting as usual
Complex: Stunbolt f10 Drain Code: 4P

Casting:

5mag + 5 spell -2 sustaining = 8d6.hits(5) → [3,2,2,6,6,1,6,5] = (4)

10S + net successes at the bound spirit.

Drain:

17d6.hits(5) → [4,5,5,5,5,1,4,4,2,4,1,5,6,6,6,3,5] = (9)

no drain

IP2:
free: centering via calm chanting now
Complex: Stunbolt f10 (at the remaining spirit)

Casting:

5mag + 5 spell -2 sustaining = 8d6.hits(5) → [6,3,6,1,6,4,1,5] = (4)

10S + net successes coming at the second spirit

(my dice are super hot this campaign, fyi if you need to check my rolls ive been using Mr.Hill, mr.hill and f5spirit of man, f5 spirit of man on invis castle).

Drain Resist:

17d6.hits(5) → [1,2,1,2,4,3,5,5,4,2,2,6,1,1,2,2,5] = (4)

no drain

Angel IP2:

....crap I forgot to order him to kill the spirits lol...

so I guess if the spirits dont womp on him in IP1 (unless i get to them before he does with my bolts of wrath):
Free: Vengeance is Mine!
Complex: Full defense
Movment: He's still going for the shaman so the bound spirit gets a free intercept.

Bound beast spirit:

to roll this i need to know what the spirits initiative is as its for sure higher than mine (though not necessarily higher than my angel's)...
onlyghostdanceswhiledrunk
Anything specific you need from me aria/ jx?
JxJxA
@ OGDWD: I'm just waiting to see how IPs 1 and 2 resolve. If some of the wounded aren't quite dead yet, I'll double-tap them. If the spirit is still there, I'll try unloading a burst from my gun into it. If it's already dead, then I might try to get the shaman myself or just finish my cig. nyahnyah.gif Also, you can always just link your dice rolls to the forum via the insert url option. I do it with all of mine just to make things easy. smile.gif
onlyghostdanceswhiledrunk
i had been trying too, but it hasnt been letting me. dont know what im doing wrong.
JxJxA
Try manually copying the url straight from the address bar instead of using the buttons, then highlight some text (like your dice values and hit totals), hit the insert url button and then paste the url into the top window. If that doesn't work, then I am confused as well. ?_?
Aria
Sorry I've not got time to post this weekend...will try and sort things for Monday. After that I have jury service so I've no idea how regular my postings will be between now and Christmas, will keep you posted!

@OGDWD: If you'd rather not link every dice roll ( I know I can't be bothered usually!) just put a link to your invisible castle profile in your sig as I have - that way anyone can check a roll if they want to and it keeps us honest but it saves a bit of time jumping about...I have to manually copy and paste URLs too and it's a bit of a pain nyahnyah.gif
AppliedCheese
Sorry to be slowing down here. Work has been very busy. Also, expect an interruption within the next week and over the holidays.
onlyghostdanceswhiledrunk
I'm also going to be running a small low-powered thread within this thread, basically a buddy of mine wants to get tossed into DS but also have face to face time, so ill be recording our adventures here as well as presenting him with general plot lines in this thread if noone minds. Feel free to add things in if anyone wants.
Aria
@E:PL/Aelias, Copperhead & Dealer

Beginnings of the brief is up...let me know what additional info you want and I'm sure it will be forthcoming...this isn't some corp conspiracy run after all ork.gif

@E:PL/Mr Hill and Gemeaux

I'm considering some GM handwavium as I haven't got much time to take you through a fight...if you want to roll for the spirits fine, but they will eventually loose...I'm happy to say that the shaman passes out from pain and shock and they bugger off...please bear in mind he has crawled inside the bedroom of a brothel and it's about to be entered by a client and his beaux ork.gif

@Freedom:

Sabs, got something up for you too, as always yell if you want more info...
onlyghostdanceswhiledrunk
im good with handwavium if it makes it easier for you. Will be nice to just IC around social stuff rather than just the fight smile.gif.
Aria
Feel free to IC it or I will tomorrow
onlyghostdanceswhiledrunk
rgr that, putting one up now.

@JxJxa how do you get the link under your French to give the meaning?
JxJxA
I use the "Insert: Acronym" button in the full reply mode. Just highlight the text and then hit the button and insert what you want it to mean. smile.gif
onlyghostdanceswhiledrunk
rgr that ty smile.gif your move btw.

All in all, a very easily morally corrupt man of the world.

I keep forgetting what the Shadowrun version of "Sense Motive" is. Isn't it some combination of intuition and perception?

JxJxA
@ OGDWD: LOL, I figured OOC that they work. IC, you're dealing with a pleasure-seeking, borderline existentialist. smile.gif He's not going to buy too heavily into religious pomp and circumstance. Plus, you know...this is the second hit that has been put on him in about a week. He has no idea if you're just the Johnny-Come-Lately bounty hunter who helped him wipe out the competition. nyahnyah.gif

Basically, he's suspicious---and rightfully so. The misspelled name just gave me a little more to work with IC. wink.gif

@GM (Aria)

Character: Vivica Leman
Alias: Saint

(This is seriously one of the zaniest characters I've ever come up with, but in a world where everything's been done! So no judging!)

Stats:
[ Spoiler ]

Description:
Female, 25.
Eyes: Green
Hair: Shock White
Skin: Porcelain

Saint is a thin, yet shapely human female. She has generally caucasian features, but nothing specific as per her significant minor bio-sculpting. What does set her apart are the modifcations she's "inherited". Her entire body is a milky white in the sense of a porcelain doll, accentuated by her equally ghostly pale hair that she keeps styled in a splay of a voluminous shoulder-length "explosion"originating from two large bangs on her forehead, backward. She also has purple biotats in the shapes of various stylish sigils in various parts across her form.

Background:

Hope this meets up to par, I love a good bit of strangeness in a character. Let me know if I need to tweak anything.

Welcome on board smile.gif This is a wild one alright biggrin.gif

...Unfortunately from tomorrow I'm on jury service so I don't know how often I'll get to post before Christmas but we can work you in. There are other GMs too, Applied Cheese is hopefully gearing up for something and OGDWD is preparing a low powered game, there may be others prepared to turn their hand to it. Otherwise we can fit you into E:PL with Gemeaux and Mr Hill (now that would be a combination!!!) but they are operating in France so it would mean getting on a flight...most of your stuff looked legal(ish)?!?

Thanks for shout out smile.gif

OGDWD's game sounds good to bring me up to speed, I know how to make a hacker character, but figuring out the details of when and how to roll are completely different. Luckily, I know just enough for starters.

And as far as Paris goes, luckily her Salvalette breaks apart into innocuous pieces, as for her SIN, it is rating 4 biggrin.gif Watch, this character gets taken out by airport security before she even has a chance to make it big. XD But yeah, everything is fairly legal(ish)!

Nah, as a kind GM I'll include the cost of travel in your fee smile.gif

This way we have muscle, magic and matrix in each E:PL team which works well to cover the bases. Mr Hill is sort of setting up the run itself but you can be drafted in by the fixer he's working for (Argent - yes, she does have a presence in Seattle and France, thanks to the marvels of the matrix!)

I haven't started their briefing yet as we were waiting to resolve the alleyway scrap but that's probably sorted now so we can move on. I will assume you've already taken a plane to Marseille (and in my games a rt 4 SIN is more than enough to take an international flight as long as you aren't laden down with cyberguns or grossly illegal stuff...). If you'd like to IC your arrival then we can agree a location to meet the other two OoC and get this ball rolling as fast as my time constraints will allow nyahnyah.gif

nuts, just read this. If you want saint in EPL thats cool but if not ( biggrin.gif ) I can def find a home in Fortunes forecast, actually the character is stunningly perfect for the campaign theme. (Currently the action is going on about a block from the UW Tacoma campus and many of the npcs/ gortreks contacts are in the sex biz or recovering from it) Either way though looks like a good take on a badly damaged person.... though i have to admit the penile implant is a bit of a surprise given that the yakuza are known for being fairly purist.

The Yakuza simply owned the Bunraku parlor, they offer services for other people of various tastes, too. It also gives me a reason why she was let go, if she could be used by the Yaks I doubt she would ever been able to "leave" their services. I guess I should add that in the background, shouldn't I? It also isn't a replacement, so to better serve both sexes as the case may be. Your point is valid though, it easily modified if it seems too out of place. Maybe something gang-related, or with the Triads or Vory perhaps?

@Aria

Now I'm conflicted XD But yeah, I wasn't gonna be bringing anything forbidden on the plane with me. If need be, if Argent has a presence in the Matrix in Seattle, then if it works the other way around, Saint could be contracted to do some low-level node-hopping for them if the drek hits the fan?
