Dealer sets to work on her:
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3183727/ - 4 hits
Looks like your free of stun.
Assuming Demon needs likewise...
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3183728/ - 2 hits. Not his finest work. You were 1 "1" away from glitching too...
Ember next in the chute:
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3183729/ 4 hits
Well, that's it for mundane stuff.

@ Seth: Thanks, couldn't have done it without the help.
Also, thanks for clearing up the healing stuff. Here's my roll:
2xBody(8 ) + Medicine(2) + Quick Healer(2) =
12d6 for 4 hits, edge to reroll misses for
an additional 1 and a glitch. Hopefully, that'll make things a little better once Ember casts a heal on me (assuming this isn't the point where he decides to get rid of the "odious killer" known as Demon

Alrighty then, I think I'm finally up to speed. Thanks for picking up Pixel for the fight Seth
It's a good read on the IC thread!
During the downtime, I'll assume a fair bit of time spent on matrix wizardry, so I'm just going to try fixing up Alpha right now (the less damaged doberman). I assume I can find some spare parts while I'm running around the matrix (I'm cruising in the van). To conduct the repairs, using a toolkit and remote-controling Jeeves (manservant drone), working on him in the back of the van to patch up and re-arm.
Repair Alpha extended check: Command+link 7 + auto Mechanic 1 = (8d6.hits(5)=3, 8d6.hits(5)=2, 8d6.hits(5)=4, 8d6.hits(5)=2)So should take 30 minutes and cost 600 nuyen in spare parts. I actually forgot to add her code slinger to that, but I doubt it'll make a difference right now.
Presume I've checked for RFIDs (van even has vehicle tag eraser), spoofed fresh matrix AID, fresh plates for the van (morphing plate with spoof chip) etc etc. Hey, I'm always a tad paranoid after some of my old-school evil GMs
What's the state of infiltration on the warehouse guards? I gather I have admin accounts created on the guards' PANs. That include inside? As in, the place isn't wifi-shielded?
Oh, just double-checked as well... mind if I spend some cash on auto / aircraft toolkits? I seem to have forgotten to snag them at chargen
Let me know if you want a price mark-up or whatever on them, otherwise I assume I can just buy those easy enough at normal prices.

@ Aria: I ended the fight at 6P boxes and 7S boxes. Dealer's roll takes out 2 boxes of something (stun?). Then Seth suggested you go. In the auto-doc, it heals 2P boxes and then my own rest roll heals 5P boxes. I'm a bit confused on healing order, so if people tell me what to do I'm okay with that.
Notsoevildm
Sep 12 2011, 11:09 AM
@JxJxA:
As I understand the rules for healing, it's normally best to do First Aid first, then magical healing (drain is the number of boxes of damage the victim has). Both first aid and magical healing can only be done once per injury. Then you go to long term recovery per day (or in this case have a handy autodoc that reduces recovery time to an hour).
@Seth:
My contacts are very street oriented so would not necessarily know much about Teague, Hansai, Allenby or corporate hit squads. However Slater is a hacker, so he probably can sniff out some gossip at the very at least. I don't have them statted out, so let me know if I need to roll anything.
The package from Lenny is the F3 sustaining focus (actually thinking Health might be better than Detection given Copper's recent discussions with Snake) - let me know if that's okay with you? I won't be able to get it yet, but that's fine for now (still got about 5 hours of cram high to work off).

I suspect Dealer did first aid so I can do healing on the four boxes (stun will probably fade on its own...) then autodoc.
@Seth, I've used your bonus 2 karma for a health spells spec - hopefully that's ok with you to lump in now...
12D -1 stun = a paltry 2 hits

Noted Pepe is with the group. Hansai isn't receiving at the moment, you get his Knight Errant answer phone.
You did have some RFID tags on the vehicle (looked like they sprayed every vehicle in the car park with them: probably an aerial burst).
You have an admin password on the device rating 3 warehouse (no need to roll: it's a piece of junk). As said earlier there are very few camera's inside. You haven't done anything with the suspicious warehouse. The guards have rating 4 PANs, and again you pwned them (I did roll for them spotting you). The place (like most buildings that aren't security facilities or research labs) isn't wifi shielded.
It's OK to buy stuff such as spare parts/tools

Sadly wifi inhibiter won't affect millimetre radar. As far as I know Shadowrun doesn't have any tech that really does.

Granted there's no hard rule on it, but if wifi inhibitor works by absorbing the RF sent out by commlinks who have the signal power to broadcast over several km, and radar by definition is based on radio, wouldn't anything absorbing radio frequencies effectively cancel it out since you'd never get a return from it?
My science could be horribly off on that - feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just looking for ways to beat radar.
And since the game doesn't want it to be beat, and likewise hasn't had the universe invent a high tech counter because they want hackers and such to be the play balance counter. That involves trying harder, because hey, just because no one thought to develop the -6 gadget doesn't mean you shouldn't look for ways to...Chaff should work, but that's not exactly subtle...
Also, questions to Kell, Ingelman, and a message to Hansai
Oh, and I believe 5 hits to know who owns that particular piece of turf (LOg + org crime/seattle area).
Seth
Sep 13 2011, 12:35 PM
Wifi/Radar
It's all about the wavelengths. As an example light is also EMF, but things that absorb red light, don't necessarily absorb blue light. Stealth planes work by solving Maxwell's equations and reflecting wavelength bands upwards, as well as by radar absorbent materials that again are optimized for a particular wavelength.
Probably in Shadowrun the Wifi is running at 60Ghz, which is the oxygen absorbtion band, which means that the range falls off with inverse to the power of four law, instead of inverse squared (the military today are seriously interested in this) as that will allow the hard cut of ranges that we see. It also allows many more cells to be jammed in together. Millimeter radar doesn't want to be absorbed by oxygen, as it would be useless for it's function.
I think the best way to beat radar is with chaff. It's "in your face", but some bits of tinfoil of the right wavelength + 1:10 being repeaters of any signal they get, will beat most radar systems. The other thing to do is to keep something between you and it: i.e. the infiltration skill.
Edit: Actually the best option is get a Hacker to fix the radar software
Hansai hasn't replied to your message (that was deliberate)
I forgot to answer the "who owns the turf". The turf is owned by Two Toes Tommy. A very nasty piece of Mafia work who is rumored to run a tailored Endorphins from one of these warehouses. Two Toes is famous for what he does to people if they piss him off once: they end up with two toes as a warning.
The other two questions Kell and Ingelmann, I had a quick scan and didn't see them: can you just link to them.

However there is a fair chance that this will mean KE are on to the snipperess quicker. You might also want to have a chat with him after this is wrapped up.
Noted the Ingelman post: when I first read it, I thought it was a nice "fluff" IC thing. I think Ingelman tells you:
- The stuff I told you before about Novatech (its a dummy for Mitsuhama, size, number of people).
- Novatech isn't in trouble, financially or otherwise
- Very stable company: same management team for 5 years.
- Teague is a lawyer who works for them as a VP.
- Now that it's been announced that they have the Jet Black back catalog, their stock is up.

Are you all OK with me moving you IC to a new base of operations:
- There is a disused SuperSports warehouse that you could pick for a base. It is on the opposite side of the (hereafter known as) Two Toe Tommy warehouse, and apart from a couple of squatters is deserted.
- Pixel's scanners pick up no wifi from this warehouse, and the boarding is tatty, so the weather has got in. A quick aerial scan shows no significant thermal images.
It will take you about 5 minutes to get there if you drive fast. Your only time pressure is if you are worried about Copperhead's biker gang news. Probably you have around 20 minutes before they arrive.

@Aria
What programs did you want?
AppliedCheese
Sep 13 2011, 08:25 PM
You'll find that they are running slaved to the deck ops node, basically using a bounce back from crew men (user level accounts) also subscribed to the node. The implication, of course, is that any deck ops personnel not currently subscribed to the node still have some sort of Access ID pre-emplaced which lets them link into the node with little more than personal security measures, and they are probably easier to break and then use to gain legit user access to the deck ops node. Of course you have to rely on them staying on deck.

Roll for breaking into the deck ops node through one of the slaved drones.
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3186323/ 7 hits. on the first try and they're rolling against my Stealth of 6. I'm going for a basic account since it should give me all the data they're getting.
Second roll.
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3186327/ 6 hits. Even if it was a 6/6 system that would have made it in. Now all I'm hoping is they didn't make it against my stealth. Even if they did with the Mute option I'll have a turn to Disarm their analyze so I should be fine.
Also making a data search on my compatriots, see if I can find any info on my team. Rumors, reputation, etc. Consider he did this as they were introducing themselves.
http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3186328/ = 5 hits on Silk
I'd roll the others but Invisible castle is acting all funny so I'll save them for later.

Invisible still going nuts. You broke the firewall round 1. There is a marginal chance, but sufficient, chance that deck ops will detect you on that one roll, but castle isn't rolling right now...if you could roll your disarm attempt just in case, that would be good.
Out of question, doesn't on the fly hacking carry a pretty stiff penalty? Like i said, i'm not 100% on the matrix.

Just to clarify where I sit with karma/cash in the 2072 thread (for my own benefit as much as anyone elses…): Earned to date = 46.
Silk has taken 26 of this and Ember 8 so far (+2 from Seth)
Ember’s shopping list:
Stim patches – looks like I’d overlooked their usefulness to a mage (thanks Seth!) …I think that dates back to when using medical drugs in SR used to screw mages! …looks like Ember might become a stim junkie!
4xStim [3] = 300
4x Stim [6] = 600 Guessing I can pick these up easily at Molly’s?!?
A summoning focus [3] Air (binding cost 12 karma) 45,000 nuyen! According to the (unofficial) cheat sheets I’ve read you can use these D to resist drain (provided you don’t use them in the summon test) but it doesn’t mention that in the main rule book (unless the summoning test effictively covers the drain, ugh semantics?!?)… is that something from Street Magic or an errata or just wrong?
Don’t suppose I can get someone from the Stillwater Circle to bring me one? It’ll only take 3hrs to bind it (we might live long enough
)!!!
Seth
Sep 14 2011, 06:47 PM
@Aria
I think that the standard focus's don't help with drain. I hope I am wrong, but I don't think so.
You can spend you karma on initiation, and centering is very good for drain.
You can have someone from Stillwater bring you a focus: just tell them where you are and hope they don't rat you out
. Only kidding: loyalty 4 or above contacts aren't going to mess you up.
@JxJxA/Aria
Molly's panic room has basic ammo (no APDS), first aid kits and trauma patchs. If you want to steal/use them go ahead. If you want to leave some cash behind, assuming she has an IQ left, she will be pleased.
@Aria/On the ship
Arggh: Helpful findings...lost them (I am in Berlin at the moment and my desktop isn't...).
Basic rules:
Hacking on the fly: Hacking+exploit, extended test, 1 Complex Action, difficulty the firewall or firewall +3 or firewall +6 (for user/security/admin)
The system is making an extended test as well, 1 test each time you hack. Firewall+Analyse, and it needs your stealth program rating to spot you
You can make it more complex if the system is encrypted or has IC /Spiders:
The IC/Spider makes opposed matrix perception tests vs your hacking + stealth to spot you. Given the high variance on shadowrun rolls, it is only a matter of time before they see you.
Encryption doesn't take long to crack. Complex action to set it going, them you just wait until it is done.
As far as I can see, an average hacker with 12 die can pwn a rating 3, usually deal with 4s and 5s, but cannot deal with a 6. A good hacker (15 to 20 die), is one up on that: pwns up to a 4, deals with 5s, and usually deals with 6. Oh and technomancers pwn any rating.

QUOTE (FAQ)
In SR4, can you withhold dice from a Sorcery or Spellcasting Test and use those dice instead to resist Drain, as you could in SR3?
This rule was dropped in SR4—it was a special case rule that didn’t apply to any other mechanics in the game. If you happen to like it, you can of course continue to use it in your own games as a house rule. The entry for the Spellcasting Focus in SR4 had an incorrect reference to this rule that was corrected in SR4A.
If you want more dice against drain, you need a fetish, as well as learning the spell in fetish-limited form (basically considered a different spell for most intents and purposes).
