Mr Juan anything to add? otherwise I'll move us forward to our rendez-vous with Sugar and Duster back in Kourou.

Bubba is taking the Heavy Machine Gun and all AMMO. Also what other weapons did we find? And Bubba picks up the un-spent grenade. He is going to pocket this one because grenade tosses just dont seem to work.

@Bastard: A short summary of gear on board would be welcome (type of machinegun, AR's, SMG's, obvious accessoires). I'm thinking of equipping Hausmann with one of the AK's (empty magazine, no round chambered) after we install his personafix-chip
Mister Juan
May 24 2010, 12:56 AM
Ludi will change out into her jungle kit, or at leats, into whatever Kliko brought on board for her. She'll also finish searching and dressign Hausmann, and turn off her jammer.
Once they hit their on shore cache, she'll get her bug scanner and check their quarry over.
Kliko
May 24 2010, 08:36 AM
Kliko brought everybody(incl
Hausmann) a jungle pattern camo-full suit. He even brought load bearing harnesses for the ones who didn't already have a combat vest. We're going to look real smart like a pair of guerillo's out there
Mister Juan

Sorry for the flakiness - been super busy at work with the shutdown and major repairs and long shifts and working almost every day. I will try to do better, but I sure don't mind all the OT money! I may not have to do my own shadowrun to make the bills this month.
Since my computer is still dead, I do not have my files. So while looking for the basic weapons I found this awesome link to
Gods, inc - Isle of ShadowsI was going to have you guys roll perception tests for your search, but seeing I have held you up enough, here is the important stuff you find:
As for gear, the crew had:
4 SCK Model 100 SMGs with 7 clips total (two of the SMGs happened to drop overboard)
1 AK-97 with two mags (minus rounds fired)
1 Browning Ultra Power pistol (one mag)
1 S-A M107 Machine gun with two 100-round boxes (The tripod is bolted down to the deck - nearly impossible to remove without the proper wrenches)
They also have armored vests, some with more holes than others, that have some sort of flotation material sewn into them.
There are also two boxes of rations, 12 in each. None are donut meals.
Anything else you are looking for in particular? Roll a perception test for results of each.
Kliko
May 25 2010, 07:58 AM
A toolbox (because I know
Bubba will bring this up):
[ Spoiler ]
[17, 5, 4, 2]
The AK and magazines go to
Hausmann. Best have
Bubba make a B/R roll for the HMG, the M107 is some nasty piece of weaponry.
-EDIT-
Sneaky, you want to go next (and make an attempt at obtaining that M 107) or shall I forward us back to the rendez-vous?
Bastard
May 25 2010, 11:26 PM
Kliko finds a satchel, like a large purse, full of simple hand tools (all metric of course, including the tape), including:
box/open wrenches
two crescent wrenches
16 oz hammer
pliers/wire cutters
channel locks
two cross tip screw drivers
two flat tip screw drivers
electric tape
duct tape
bailing wire
Bubba can take the M107 with basic skill, however, the tripod it is sitting on is firmly mounted to the deck.
Kliko
May 26 2010, 10:05 AM
Kliko will just toss Bubba the bag. The rest is up to Sneaky. I'll wait for him before posting the rendez-vous.
Bastard
May 27 2010, 01:11 AM
Ok... waiting on Sneaky.
I think Saturday we will be back to normalcy at work. We started up our unit today, running in circulation. Adding heat and increasing pressure tomorrow, then feed in on Friday, final steps on Saturday... hopefully.

Bastard, I believe there was a brief mention that we were doing this run in the rain season? Could you give an update on the weather (hot and humid, hot with burning sun, hot and raining)? Then I can incorporate that in our rendez-vous post.

May 27 2010, 09:29 PM
Not sure what to roll against but Bubba will attempt remove the tripod by using the tools provided from Kliko.
Heavy weapons:
[ Spoiler ]
5, 5, 4, 4, 1, 1
If this fails, Bubba will muscle the tripod using tools and strength:

@Bastard: Bubba's cell got signal?
Bastard
May 28 2010, 06:19 PM
Not if the jammer is on. Once you get closer to shore there will be a cell signal.
The tripod is not hand bolted on, it was permanently fixed and is going to take the correct tools, not brute strength to remove from the deck.

Great news!
I am still working on my next post. My computer is still in boxes, my hard drive is at my friends, and thus my notes are floating in cyberspace for now.
EDIT
Post is up... I didnt add too much, as I do not want to lead you too much.
Feel free to post ahead to setting up camp, or cruising around... let me know your plans for each day. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday...

Not sure whether we made specific arrangements for that in the IC.
Most likely the team makes him leave a voice- or tridmessage in a messagebox which we in turn check twice (sunset and -rise) a day through
Ludiīs sat-dish, then return his call when required. It's likely
JC's call, since
Ludi is our designated comms-specialist

That was mainly why I had Ludi bring her collapsible sat dish. Didn't think they'd get cellular signal down in the boondocks
So yea, we do the voice mail box thingy

No worries... I found some hand written notes today.
Hooray!
BTW - What is it that you are using on Hausmann, and how does it work?
Kliko
Jun 6 2010, 09:24 AM
A rating 6 personafix-chip (rookie mercenary archetype). Basically it is a special direct input BTL that overrides the user's personality with that of the chip. They're mentioned at the end of BTL-descriptions on p. 296 of the core book. We'll be giving Hausmann a real authentic 'experience' for this one. Posing as a merc team 'on the run'. I don't have a clue how they work rules-wise. But we can always ask on the OOC forum?
@Bastard: Should we make some Wilderness-survival group tests? And is it going to rain? I believe we're in Kourou during the raining season right? (also for narrative purposes).
Bastard
Jun 7 2010, 02:45 AM
Sure it can rain. It will be hot and humid when it rains, just as it is when it doesnt. The temp will drop a few degrees though, while the mugginess gives way to the coolness of the warm rain.
Post your itinerary OoC first though.
Kliko

Up river till about 16:00 local time.
Sugar and
Duster can drive the skiff during the day, up and up Kourou-river. Then make camp some 100-200 m from the rivers shore preferably on some high ground (this is the rain season afterall).
Kliko and
Bubba haul the skiff some 10-20 meters inland tieing it to a trunk and covering it up with part of the camo-netting we brought along.
Kliko is somewhat concerned about the state of some of their high-tech electronics in this humidity, but hopefully the plastic seals hold. By 18:00
Kliko will make a last round to check teammies'
hammock, musquito nets and tarp(against the rain) setups, doing the briefing they "check your boots and clothing for scorpions and centipedes when you get up" briefing.
Sugar and
Duster take first watch,
Kliko and
Ludi second,
Bubba and
Hausmann third. Four hour watches, 7:00 we leave our camp site and move further up river. Repeat until day 3 which is a resting day. From day 4 onwards we'll be moving down river again so we can release
Hausmann at the morning of day 5.
-EDIT-
We better have arranged a troll modified hammock for
Bubba

Jun 7 2010, 10:26 PM
Thought I should mention a few things concerning Ludi's actions. I'll write an actual post soon, but I wanted to get everything jotted down OOC first.
So, first things first: as soon as they hit their cache, Ludi will ran Hausmann over with her with her R5 Bug Scanner. While they're in the jungle, she'll link her radio scanner to her datajack and keep it running. She'll also keep her jammer in her combat load vest, just in case they get jumped by anyone. She'll also keep tabs on her own vitals by strapping her biomonitor to her forearm. Since she's pretty new to the jungle, she's probably not used to loosing so much water... and hopefully, the biomonitor will prevent her from forgetting to drink

Bubba Yeah, its called the jungle floor!
The humidity should not ruin your electronics. I had no problem with mine while I was in the Philippines jungles, in March. As long as they are not submerged or left out to be rained on for extended periods.
For your IC posts,
Hausmann is going to be rather confused. He is not going to have a clear memory of what is going on or who he is. It is there, but it is more like a dream than actual memories to him. So when you NPC him, keep that in mind.
You guys are all going to constantly be warm, and covered in sweat, which I will explain below.
You guys are going to always be thirsty, so remembering to drink enough water wont be as important as having enough water.
...
From your pre-mission studies of French Guiana you remember a few things:
One of the biggest problems with a high humidity climate is that sweat does not evaporate, thus not cooling the body as it should. You have to be aware of how much water and salts you are losing due to your body over sweating to try and over compensate. Salt, in the form of sports drinks is best, as salt tablets tend to be too much for a short stay and often make users sick, and have the reverse than desired effect of dehydrating the user.
Bugs, with their stings, poisons and carried diseases, are not the only threat. There are also large predators, some of them who do not know man enough to fear him.
...
I look forward to your posts.
Kliko
Jun 8 2010, 06:56 PM
Man, you'd figure by 2062 they'd invent something to IV salt solutions through your auto-injector
. I'm glad
Kliko brought a towel on his packing list.
I'll wait for
Ludi and/or
Bastard before posting. I don't know whether the
Bastard has more suprises up his sleave or whether we'll have an easy ride. Best keep those machetes close in case some jungle cougar or puma thinks we're breakfast.
