I've got a few things I'd like to pick up while wandering around town. For the smart frame, do I need a broker to buy it? Most gear works through someone and you use Street etiquette to define how long it takes them. I should be able to search for a software site myself to purchase and download this software personally.

@ntwi I too am concerned about being able to get past the internal Azzie security. I did not assume we had time to do a covert infiltration just so Jamie could run surveillance on the site. I'm willing to try the Matrix route, or infiltrate with a dataline tap.

Infiltrating the warehouse might allow us to insert into the other Azzie host easier as well.

Did you put this in IC, so Daze knows the change? Or do I need to go back and edit my IC? It would probably be better if the change were made IC, possible later that day after Ludi talks to the team, and go over the prices, IC. This way you already know the prices for the cases, which would make more sense. Changing to timers would not be something out of the ordinary in the shadowrun world.




Yes. I believe timers have a lower SI, so he can get them. Same as above though, are you going to make this change in the IC or do I need to edit mine?

He gets up at 5:30 am, does his morning workout of push- and sit-ups before going out and getting soykaf and breakfast for the rest of the crew.

Sorry Folks for not being part of the planning for this round. Life is really busy; work is stepping up (potential promotion in the works), two little ones with a third on the way, and starting legal battles with my dead beat builder.

I am however reading and keeping up with what folks are doing every couple days or so. The planning process seems like a real life full time job for what our team needs to do. I just don’t have the time commitment to participate in the planning process, but I am willing to make rolls etc. if you guys want to assign Bubba some tasks.

Some skill areas that might be useful for these missions that Bubba can assist in are:

He is very bad in the social arena, but he is a bullet barrier and combat monster in every way. If Kliko wants to assign him some tasks he will do it.

We now officially need to get Bubba Panther Cannon, and go full on assault on one of the targets. I mean COME ON! I want to see that.

Or go for LAW's, cheaper and disposable... Lots of possibilities though. Although the cheapest destructive power is the very underpriced Claymore mine at only 200 iirc . (presuming you give the claymore its real world power instead of it's 16m range in game)

According to Wikipedia (and the numbers sound correct), it's designed for optimum coverage vs destruction at 50m, with a 30% hit rate on a prone (head and shoulders) sized target (1.3 sq ft). Ideally, the kill zone is 20-30m away where the hit rate more than doubles, and if they're standing instead of lying prone, they die.

But in that case we should look into smuggling our equipment in and out of Denver.

Bubba has a RPK-HMG back home with APDS rounds and Bipod and a Stoner Ares M107 Machine Gun with Gas Vent III and laser sight. If we are going to take time to scout and such and we think we can use the weapons a couple of us could go back and get them. Although the border crossings could be challenging not so much with the mage companion.

It all depends on how we divy up the missions and the strategy we want to take.

I think we should consider that option.

Now the question is, can we somehow obtain a smuggler contact? Kliko shoots APDS too back home (Get some, keep the edge!).

Bubba will try one of his contacts that may have some "ins".

Bubba will contact JJ (Father Figure, level 2) fixer to see if he can help with the smuggling of equipment or whether JJ can point us to someone who can help. After all JJ use to run the shadows.

All Ludi needs to give him is a where, when, and what, and we get a price quote.
Of course, the less we smuggle in, the less he'll charge.

Technically, yes. It would cost us a lot, but we could.

If need be, for the previous run, Ludi already had an emergency extraction prepped up. We would probably have to ditch a lot of gear, and it might cost us quite a bit... But that's why it's called "emergency extraction".

Mr Bastard Sir, Sorry to post here, tried to message you first, but it won't let me because your box is at 100% capacity. I heard that you might be accepting new characters into this game? As has been stated before, I'm a pure 3e kinda guy, and getting into a real 3e ongoing game would sure make me a happy camper. If you are, could you let me know (via PM if you can) what sort of char-gen you want, and what sort of character you'd allow?

I was going to write an IC post, but I realized we still aren't fixed on a few things. Ludi has to call Daze back to switch the FN for an AK, and to confirm the amount of grenades and explosives.

Now, my main question is: do we need / want to smuggle some of our gear from CFS to Denver? If so, what? I had brought it up earlier in the OOC thread, and I think we'd pretty much settled on getting things on site here in Denver. So, I just want to make sure before we start shelling out nuyens for gear in Denver that we won't be using in the end.

The smuggler, Hawk, had previously quoted 5 000 nuyens to Ludi, just to smuggle her from CFS to Denver.
So, if we go by that price quote, we'll be shelling out a minimum of 5 000 just for the transport into Denver. Making that another 5 000 to smuggle out. So we're looking at 10 000 already, just in "transportation" fees.

If what Bubba needs is a machinegun, Ludi can find one for him. An Ingram LMG would probably end up being about 3750 if I understand the Denver market properly. And I'm only mentioning the Ingram because it's got a low avail score, comes with a few extra and doesn't cost an arm. A Stoner M107 would probably be almost 20 000 and take 2 to 3 weeks to find...

Even thought she doesn't know a ton of people in Denver, I believe Ludi already has enough ins that, if need be, she can fence the gear after the run. We won't make all our nuyens back, but at least we'll cover some cost.

So anyways! Once we get this little bit straightened out, Ludi will make the call (calls?), and head out with Corsair to make a physical recon of the targets. Anyone who wants to tag along is welcome!

EVERYONE - Feel free to NPC Corsair! He is a quiet, but not shy, late 20s male human that is really into urban brawl.

@Juan: I'm thinking some 16kg's explosives (the low grade plastic compound IV stuff).

Indeed an Ingram Valiant would add hugely to Bubba's combat effectiveness (+3x 50 round clips). The alternative is having him running around with his clubs and cyber shotguns (and we all know APDS slugs cost a fortune!).

I'd say we use Kliko and Bubba (our residential explosives experts) as the infil-team with Ludmilla doing overwatch on Jamie, Jamie doing matrix-overwatch, Corsair doing physical overwatch and Felix doing astral-overwatch.

How does that sound for an SOP?

In at least one case Jamie has work to do other than just overwatch. I'd like to make a little more money from this run.

No problem, because Jamie gets to infil as well! (to find her a suitable jackpoint).

We'll be able to use 2x2 man teams. We're also flexible in the combination between Kliko, Ludi, Jamie and Bubba.

For the warehosue job we should use the configuration I put in my last post. For the corporate office job we probaply best switch out Ludi for Bubba or Kliko. That way we have one electronics specialist per sub-team.

Alright. I'm going to settle down a bit and write some IC, so we can move forward.

It all honestly depends on how the recon goes. Some places, like the warehouse, might be really easy to hit. We might end up just needing one person to sneak in, plant the bombs, and leave.

Well my IC post ended with Ludi "sending" Daze the list. Basically, she's emailing it to him because she's feeling a bit too self conscious to call him barely an hour after she's seen him.

Anything you purchase through legal means pay normal price. Search for anything you want to pick up via the black market, and you will need a contact to purchase from.

The Data Havens is like Shadowland and is considered a contact. You were unsuccessful in locating it. This will be very difficult to locate with random searches.

JJ can get it to you but at a cost... go ahead and add to IC, the conversation. We see now that Ludi is picking you up a Ingram Valiant.
